Throwbot: The Karate Robot

The future is overrun by ninjas. Two scientists send Throwbot (a karate robot) back to the 1980's where he has 72 hours to teach a kid who knows no karate how to win a karate tournament in order to stop the events that lead to the ninja dystopia.

About

Throwbot is a retro-80's style action comedy.

Currently attached is former WCW Superstar Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, who will be playing the evil Record Executive. With a few more surprise celebrities to be announced in the near future.

CAST

Marshall - Principal - (18 - 30) (any ethnicity/gender)
Marshall is a shy kid who just moved to town. He lacks confidence, and lets be honest, he doesn't even have to be that good of an actor. A robot is gonna do all the work for him. He is however, the main character.

Maya - Principal - (18 - 30) (any ethnicity/gender)
Maya is the star karate student. She's also a pop singer, model, actress, like the character is also fictionally an actress, and Marshall has a crush on her.

Master Sensei - Principal - (18 - 85) (any ethnicity/gender)

Master Sensei is a superstar "in his own mind." He was a movie star in the 70's, but when the 80's rolled around, Hollywood no longer needed a washed up karate master. Now he teaches karate in a strip mall, to mostly white kids, and every class he talks about all the movies he was in.

Bruce - Supporting - (18 -50) (any ethnicity/gender)
He is a scientist. He's from the future. He's really smart, and I don't know what people are like in the future, because it's really different there.

Jean-Claude - Supporting - (18 -50) (any ethnicity/gender)
He's also from the future. Where Bruce is an optimist, Jean-Claude is a real downer. He's Bruce's co-worker.

Rupert - Supporting - (21 - 80) (any ethnicity/gender)

Rupert is a wise old bartender. Even though he doesn't know the karate moves, he may have some advice about karate life.

Agent - Supporting - (18 - 80) (any ethnicity/gender)

Let's be honest, this is a really small role. It's the goofy sidekick to the main bad guy, but that main bad guy is Buff Bagwell. So you'd get to work with him the most.

Throwbot - Basically a prop - (18-80) (any ethnicity/gender)

Throwbot doesn't have a lot of lines. They're the most important character, however, they'll be in costume most of the time. I need someone small, because smaller costumes are cheaper. If you'd like I'll tell the rest of the cast that it's Pedro Pascal inside the robot suit.

There are various 1-2 line characters that fill out the world. If this is one of your first acting roles, and you'd like to test the waters with a small part, just put general character, and we kind find something fun for you.
